Just read your comments while searching the web for a new CORDED phone. I also have had a Vista 350 for about 15 yrs. or more & absolutely LOVE it. The only problem I have now is, the screen has blanked out in a couple of places & I can't see who's calling me . . . that's important.

I don't like anything I've seen so far & these cordless things do not work when there is a blackout as everybody found out in the BURNOUT we had years ago. Good old Vista 350!

Nothing like the indestructibility of old NT phones! They will most certainly last forever.

I've gone through two cordless sets since I moved here in 2005. A Motorola kit with two phones, and now a Philips set of 5. So far the Philips are OK but they have charging issues. That's the great thing about a phone with a cord, it never needs charging.

Where's my 350? It's around here somewhere!

Hey Scot, funny enough I seem to remember too the roof fell on Muzz during Will's solo (it was a section or two of the ceiling falling upstage, stage left) which necessitated the acoustic version of Elvis is Dead and the Chapman cover (thanks Bill for reminding me of that) while apologizing for an early(ish) finish to the night. That said, my memory could be off too

As for Palmer's set (and we were there to see him), I was less than impressed. Seem to remember it was the first or one of the first shows on this side of the pond.

The ceiling caved in when they began encore “Elvis Is Dead”, not during a drum solo. They also did Tracy Chapman’s “Talkin’ ‘Bout a Revolution” (acoustic, of necessity).

As for Robert Palmer, I was there for LC alone (I’d been reading about Vernon and his projects), having already seen good ol’ Robert a number of times.

Roy Thomson was about 1/3 full of the bow-tie Yuppie crowd for the “warm up” act and 2/3 of them fled to the lobby bar to settle their nerves after the gargantuan Living Colour hit the stage. Third song in – having witnessed the fact – Corey cracks, “We’d really like to thank Robert Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaalmer for inviting us along”. They went went back to their sonic attack. Yes, that was me jumping up and down.

Oh yeah. Turns out Palmer had never been better, reunited with his best drummer, Donnie Wynn. Glad for the double bill after all.

What a night, what a night. Great write up thanks.
Saw the boys first open up for Robert Palmer in 1988 and they blew my head off, then it was the Sibony (sp?) in Kensington Market and the Concert Hall each time they killed it (granted the Concert Hall show ended with the roof literally coming down so it was a quiet, almost acoustic, rendition of Elvis is Dead, and 21 years later they – in the words of GaryV – Crushed it!
